Football National Teams Uganda Cranes

Football governing body, FUFA, has retained Abdallah Mubiru in the setup for the Uganda Cranes coaching staff.

Mubiru has been named the Cranes assistant coach on an interim basis. He was the Cranes coach temporarily when Sebastien Desabre left the role after AFCON 2019 in Egypt.

The development has been confirmed by acting FUFA president Justus Mugisha in a briefing on Wednesday at FUFA house in Mengo.

This is seen as a reward by FUFA to Mubiru for taking the Cranes to 2020 CHAN tourney in Cameroon.

Livingstone Mbabazi will be the second assistant while Fred Kajoba will be the goalkeeping coach, Ayub Balyejusa is the equipment manager and Geofrey Massa as the team coordinator.

Mubiru who doubles as the Police FC coach and Onduparaka’s Mbabazi will be working with head coach Jonathan Mckinstry in an interim role for the period of six months before FUFA names the assistant on a permanent basis.

It should be noted that Mubiru did not apply for either Coach or assistant role of the Uganda Cranes.
