SC Villa’s Request To Use Luzira Approved

Maroons FC which owns Luzira Prison grounds as their home ground, has granted SC villa permission to host its Uganda premier league fixture against URA Scheduled on Friday, November 1st at Luzira.

Villa had written to Maroons requesting for permission to use Luzira following the unavailability of its initial home ground Namboole.

Villa’s request to host at Luzira has been accepted if we are to go with the letter seen by this website by Maroons CEO Shaban Odoa Hamis.

Villa played a goalless draw with Maroons at Luzira this season.

The letter in parts reads;

“This is in response to your letter requesting to host the Star Time Uganda Premier League fixture against URA FC slated for 1st November 2019, at 4:00pm, at Maroons grounds.

“Your request is hereby granted. However, you are expected to protect the club’s facilities and infrastructures during the game.”

This comes after Namboole management asker the rental clubs – SC Villa, URA and Kyetume FC to look elsewhere for a period of two weeks as they try to refurbish the stadium which is currently in poor state.

The recent request from Namboole was taken to preserve the stadium which is set to house Uganda Cranes’ game against Malawi in AFCON qualifiers on November 17th.
