2018/19 Uganda Cup winners Proline FC had their continental journey ended with a 2-0 home defeat by Libyan side Al-Nasr at the Startimes stadium, Lugogo.

After drawing 2-2 in the first leg, advantage was with Proline FC who needed at least a goalless draw to reach the group stages on first attempt.

Almaryami Khalid and Ibrahim Albedwi Osama scored for the visitors who were the deserved winners in a tense affair.

The visitors went ahead in the 4th minute, punishing Proline who had Mustafa Mujuzi lose possession in his own half for Almaryami to pounce past goalkeeper Hassan Matovu.

Hamisi Kizza almost found the leveller but his shot was cleared away by Al-Nasr goalkeeper while Mujuzi’s freekick hit the wall before Bright Anukani had a rebound denied by the crossbar.

Joseph Mandela’s header off Ssaka Mpiima’s well weighed delivery deflected off the keeper before ricocheting off the woodwork as Proline huffed and puffed.

Arnold Sserunjogi also came close but the ball hit his chest before going out from a well delivered Bright Anukani corner.

Anukani had a shot driven away by goalkeeper Alriaydh Abdelrhiman, substitute Allan Egaku missed from close range before defender Bernard Muwanga’s effort hit the crossbar.

Albedwi doubled the advantage for the visitors when he fired from long range after he received a pass from the corner kick.

Noordin Bunjo who started from the bench, had a precious chance at goal but also failed to beat the goalkeeper.
