UPL: Express Surrender Lead In Maroons Draw

Express FC squandered a two-goal advantage to draw Maroons in a league early kickoff played at FUFA Technical centre, Njeru.

The game was played at Njeru after a ban on Wankulukuku and fixture pushed to 1PM with Police Vs URA game to be played at the same venue at 4:30PM.

The Red Eagles took an early lead when Frank Kalanda scored from the spot after an handball in the 16th minute.

Frank Ssenyondo doubled the lead when he slotted in from close range after a low cross by captain Disan Galiwango in the 24th minute.

Fred Amaku made it 2-1 before the break to keep Maroons’ chances alive.

Steven Mukwala scored an equaliser after a beautiful delivery from Caesar Olega in the 54th minute.

Kalanda rattled the crossbar while George Ssimwogerere’s efforts to bring on Joshua Musoke and Ivan Ocholit, proved not enough to regain control.

The draw leaves with 14 points while Maroons have collected 17.

Express host KCCA FC. Maroons will take a short trip to face leaders Vipers.
