SC Villa target man Bashir Mutanda is set to be out of action for two months, The-SportsNation.com sources have learnt.

The striker who missed Villa’s last 4-1 win against Tooro United, has been out for the last two weeks.

Mutanda, who was the club’s leading goalscorer with 13 goals last season, has been a shadow of himself in 2019/20 and is yet to find the back of the net.

Mutanda was on target as Villa drew one all against Bright Stars at Namboole last season, with Alfred Onek rescuing a point for the visitors.

Before the start of this season, Mutanda had his deal to join Botswana club Jwaneng Galaxy fall through after Villa reportedly demanded a higher transfer fee.

Ambrose Kirya, Faisal Muwawu, Charles Lwanga, Nicholas Kabonge and Ronald Magwali will carry the team’s scoring burden.

Villa who are unbeaten in last 10 games since the 1-0 loss to Kyetume FC, are fourth on the log with 20 points and will leapfrog Onduparaka to go third with a win.

Hosts Bright Stars are buoyant after beating Onduparaka for their first win, and the side added on that momentum with a goalless draw away in Mbarara.

Bright Stars, third from the bottom with 10 points, will jump out of the relegation zone if they pick maximum points.
