UPL: Esenu Scores Hat-trick As BUL FC extend Mbarara’s Misery

Striker Musa Esenu scored an hat-trick inside the first half as BUL FC compounded Mbarara City’s misery on return to at Kyabazinga Stadium, Bugembe

The victory sends second placed BUL to 27 points, just three behind leaders Vipers.

The loss leaves Mbarara City winless in six league games and have one once since coach Paul Nkata joined the embattled Ankole Lions.

It was an action packed encounter at Bugembe, with BUL’s attacking line of Robert Mukongotya and Musa Esanu causing trouble for the visitors.

Mukongotya beat Hillary Mukundume before finding Esenu who headed in home to put the hosts in the lead in the 26th minute.

Five minutes later, Esenu combined with Mukongotya again to double the lead.

Esenu completed his hat-trick with another Mukongotya’s assist to hand BUL a deserved 3-0 comfortable lead.

Bebe Semuju’s wide range shot was saved by goalkeeper Sanoni Mulabi as Mbarara tried to fight back while Salim Huud was also denied by the outstanding goalkeeper.

Paul Mucureezi’s free header also sailed few inches over the crossbar before fluffing an effort off Ibrahim Orit’s neat assist.

BUL will face SC Villa in their next game while Mbarara City will host Onduparaka FC.
