UPL: Boban Salvages Point For Busoga Against Maroons

Busoga United managed to snatch a point off visitors Maroons in the StarTimes UPL game played on Tuesday at the Mighty Arena in Jinja.

Boban Zirintusa scored from the spot in stoppage time to deny Maroons maximum points. This was the fifth goal for Boban in the league this season.

Steven Mukwala had put Maroons in the lead in the 70th minute, his seventh goal in the ongoing campaign. The Vipers forward, on loan from Vipers, is just a goal below leading goalscorer Fahad Bayo (Vipers) who has notched eight.

Busoga who move to 17 points, remain winless in their last four games and are yet to win at the Mighty Arena since shifting from Njeru.

Coached by Abbey Bogere Kikomeko, the side ended a three game losing streak and have now collected 17 points.

Maroons, who have now collected 18 points after 12 games, have lost once in their last six.

Busoga United will visit URA in their last game of the first round while Maroons host Wakiso Giants on Friday before before visiting Proline FC.
