Express VS KCCA: Red Eagles Bank On Attacking Trio

Wednesday, November 13
*Express Vs KCCA – 4PM
*SC Villa Vs BUL – 4:30PM
*Police Vs Tooro – 4:30PM

Express FC will hope for the best from their attacking trio of Frank Ssenyondo, Frank Kalanda and Dissan Galiwango to stop KCCA FC in a league game on Wednesday.

The Red Eagles will host the TV game at a neutral ground – Wakissha Resource centre, Wakiso after Wankulukuku was banned from hosting games because of it’s poor state.

Express’ attacking trio has scored 14 goals combined and the availability of creative midfielder Shafic Avemah playing behind them, KCCA may face frustrating 90 minutes in Wakiso.

Mathias Muwanga, Emmanuel Bafoe, Cyrus Kibande and Hamdan Nsubuga are ruled out while Daniel Shabena returns after missing the Maroons draw in Njeru.

Against Maroons, Express will feel they should have walked away with all three points when they led 2-0 but squandered their advantage to draw 2-2.

“Some mistakes were made and can’t be made in every game,” coach George Ssimwogerere reflected on the Maroons game. “We have rectified our mistakes and we are good to go.”

“Playing away from home is going to cost us but we have nothing to do about it. So we just have to focus on the game and see how to go about it.”

KCCA managed to come from down twice to beat Police FC 3-2 at Lugogo and are currently eighth with 16 points but a loss on Wednesday will see them leapfrogged by Express who have collected 14 points.

Mike Mutebi’s side will continue to be without Allan Okello, Charles Lukwago and Nicholas Kasozi who travelled with the Uganda Cranes to Burkina Faso but former Express defender John Revita and Muzamir Mutyaba return after missing the Police FC game.

Last season, hosts Express FC beat KCCA FC 3-2 at Wankulukuku – Michael Birungi, Eric Kambala and Galiwango were on target for Kefa Kisala’s men then. Okello and Allan Kyambadde scored for KCCA.
