AFCON Qualifiers: Fahad Bayo Starts As Mckinstry Names Team

Fahad Bayo will lead Uganda Cranes attack as the side play host to Malawi in a group B AFCON qualifier encounter at Namboole.

The Vipers’ forward, has scored eight league goals for the Kitende based side, and will carry the team’s scoring burden.

Bayo replaces Patrick Kaddu and comes in Jonathan Mckinstry’s starting XI. This is the first home game for the Northern Irishman.

He is the only local best player out of the five to make the starting XI. Charles Lukwago, Haid Lwaliwa, Allan Okello and Nicholas Kasozi settle for a place on the bench.

In other changes, Timothy Denis Awany sits out and replaced by Nicholas Wadada. Wadada will play at right back while Bevis Mugabi will partner Murushid Juuko in the centre back.

Kizito William Luwagga starts ahead of Abdul Lumala who did not make a trip back to Kampala from Ouagadougou.
