UCU Canons will seek to tie the semifinals series against Betway Power when the sides renew acquaintances on Sunday at the Indoor Arena in Lugogo.

Power won game one of the best of five series 59-56 on Friday.

The Canons who are searching for their first championship came into the playoffs as number one seeding and made their intentions of winning their trophy further known when they eased past KCCA Men in the quarters.

Against Power, Nicholas Natuhereza’s side struggled with their shots, making just 5-of-32 from the three point range.

Overall, the Canons who will need Isaiah Mabeny Ateer to be at his best, shot 27% from the field and were out rebounded 66-54.

David Deng Kongor who had 18 points, Fadhil Chuma, Titus Lual, Joas Maheta and Fayed Baale will also have to step up their efforts if they need this series to remain in sight.

Five time Champions Power needed Geoffrey Soro to click in the latter stages of the game to exert dominance despite outstanding performances from Joseph Ikong and Syrus Kiviiri.

It’s not known whether Amini Mkosa who started his Exams will feature in Game Two.
