NBL Playoffs: Warriors Beat Oilers To Take Game Two

Vengeful Warriors tied the best of five semifinal series 1-1 against City Oilers after a 68-56 laboured win on Monday at YMCA court in Lugogo.

Warrior led 14-6 after the first quarter and led by 12 points at the long break before holding on to overcome slow starters Oilers.

Chris Omanye, Samad Imran and Stanley Mugerwa fouled out for the Kyambogo based team while Landry Ndikumana fouled out for the Short handed Oilers who had four bench players.

Mark Opiyo scored a game high 12 points while Gatwech Kutai and Amisi Saidi contributed 11 and 10 rebounds respectively for the Oilers. Mugerwa was named player of the game after scoring eight points and as many rebounds.

Jimmy Enabu and James Okello dropped 11 points each before Daniel Juuko added eight points. Okello picked 14 rebounds to complete his double double in a losing effort.

Warriors out rebounded Oilers 48-44 and shot 37% from the field despite making 28 turnovers, 10 more than Mandy Juruni’s charges.
