City Oilers overcame Warriors in a 67-60 laboured win to lead the best of five semifinals 2-1.

The defending six time champions, who had James Okello and Ben Komakech play almost the entire last quarter without a foul to give, have the final in sight.

Okello had a double double of 19 points and 11 rebounds, Tony Drilleba (17 points), Ben Komakech (11 points) and Landry Ndikumana (18 rebounds) all put up commanding performances for Oilers.

Amisi Saidi had 26 points and 10 rebounds, Stanley Mugerwa managed 10 points and as many rebounds in a losing effort.

After a slow start that saw both sides score eight points each in a quiet first quarter, it was Oilers who came out of the blocks in the second quarter and were 29-25 up at the long break before holding on to win a seven point thriller.

The defending Champions shot 23-of-69 from the field and out rebounded Warriors 54-50 despite struggling with front court presence in a game they squeezed 18 points off the bench.

Landry played 38 minutes and will again be needed at his best in game four on Friday but the side will need Abel Omongin and Najja Juuko to step up every time when called into play especially after veteran Komakech contributing 11 points to the score.
