Onduparaka forward Julius Malingumu has set his target straight – To win the 2019/20 StarTimes UPL golden boot.
The striker bagged a hat-trick against Kyetume FC in Arua and has totalled five goals. Leading goalscorer Maroons’ Steven Mukwala has 10 so far.
The targetman, in an interview with The-SportsNation.com, has also credited hard work for his strong start since joining Onduparaka at the begining of the season.
“Well its all about self despline in and out of the pitch and also working hard plus the inspirational words from my agent Jens Liedhal and coach,” he started, when asked on how he has managed to have a good start with Onduparaka.
“My aim is to help Onduparaka win games, but individually, I want to be the topscorerer of the UPL this season.”
On why he chose Onduparaka FC after a short stint with Ethiopian club Heegan FC and Paidha Black Angels, he commented:
“Onduparaka as a club is a big team in Uganda and they have good structures, so I knew the club will bring me back on board but all in all I want thank coach Livingstone Mbabazi because he believed in me.”
Playing alongside other attackers like captain Gadafi Wahab, Vitalis Tabu, Rajab Kakooza and Caesar Okhuti among others, Maliyamungu is confident that Onduparaka will terrorise defences in the second round.
