Defending Startimes UPL champions KCCA FC will be without four key players when they go out in search for their first win against Mbarara City.

The much anticipated game will be played at Kakyeka and aired live on Sanyuka TV.

KCCA FC has never beaten Mbarara in their four top flight meeting – All ending in draws – And the Garbage Collectors will have to end this poor record without Allan Okello, Mustafa Kizza, Jackson Nunda and Nicholas Kasozi.

KCCA’s Assistant Coach Morley Byekwaso says his side is well prepared to earn points away from home to close gap at the table despite missing the said players.

“We are well prepared as we have always done,” Byekwaso, in Mbarara, said. “We know Mbarara City is a strong team which we haven’t got maximum from since their top flight promotion.”

“We are here to win so that we can narrow the gap between us and table leaders because if we lose they will use the advantage to stretch the gap.

“In every game we play our aim is to win, Mbarara need the win and we do as well.

Byekwaso confirmed that Okello is having pain with his knee, Kasozi has fever, Mustafa and Nunda have fatigue.

Byekwaso stressed that they have enough good players, including youngster Sam Ssenyonjo, to complete the job.

Ssenyonjo who received his debut on Saturday, marked the milestone with a debut as KCCA beat Kyetume FC 5-2 at Lugogo.

The Ankole Lions will not be a walkover after looking to be in a resuscitation mode since the arrival of Coach Brian Ssenyondo and will surely want to end their first league round on a high.

Under coach Ssenyondo, who was in charge of the club at the begining of the season before the arrival of the now sacked George Best Nsimbe, Mbarara has won two league games – Beating Onduparaka and Kyetume.

11th-placed Mbarara City come in their last game of the first round with 16 points while fourth KCCA are eight points adrift of leaders Vipers.

Muzamir Mutyaba (KCCA) and Makueth Wol (Mbarara) are the only players to have scored in this fixture.

Wol will be key for the Ankole Lions but the star attraction will be Paul Mucureezi who will be facing his former pay masters and will need no more motivation to provide the needed spark.
