Uganda Cricket Cranes finished the Italian job with ease to continue their success story at the ongoing Cricket World Cup Challenge League.
After setting 218, Uganda Cricket Cranes managed to defend their total and chocked Italy who managed 180 all out for the Cranes to win by 38 runs.
The win, four from as many, consolidates Uganda’s place atop as they bid to keep their 2023 ICC Cricket World Cup qualification hopes alive.
Despite the opening pair of Roger Mukasa (19) and Arnold Otwani (5) falling inside the first 16 overs, Shahzad Ukani and Ronak Patel guided Uganda to a respectable total.
Shahzad hit 78 runs from 88 balls and Ronak (52) added another half century while the tail end failed to come to the party.

Bilal Hassun and Dinesh Nakrani worked the magic with the ball, picking five and three wickets in that order.
Italy’s opener Gian Meade hit 43 off 94 balls before he sending Nakrani’s delivery into Riazat Ali Sha’s gaps in the 28th over to leave his side pondering at 96/5.
MJ Ross and Rakibul Hassan tried to revive the chase, but were taken out with 32 and 22 respectively, with their efforts that proved to be kicks of the dying horse.
