 Glamour As Sports Excellence Recognised At Betway Awards

Top performing athletes were acknowledged and encouraged the glamorous Betway awards dinner which doubled as the end of year party for leading online betting firm Betway Uganda.

The well attended event took place at Royal Suites Bugoloobi on Thursday night – Attended for by Betway assets (Express FC, Betway Power and Betway Kobs), sports stakeholders, Betway staff among others.

The awards, held for the second time, and emceed by comedian Ema Napoleone, showcased some of the dedicated individuals and teams that embody the true spirit of sport and Betway.

Unlike other ceremonies that dwell so much on long speeches, the organisers kept it simple and let delicious food and top notch entertainment do the talking.

The pinnacle of the event saw Kobs’ Joseph Aredo named best sports personality of the year, beating Express’ Dissan Galiwango and Power’s Syrus Kiviiri to the gong.

The above trio, were named the best at their respective clubs.

Betway Kobs: Joseph Aredo Returns

When addressing attendees, Betway Country manager Adellah Agaba Nyaruhuma started off by applauding the teams for raising the bar and urged them to perform much more better in 2020.

Adellah also recognised Betway staff Immaculate Namanda for her commitment the whole year, the lady took home the country manager special award.

Comedian Mendo Sseguja.

Herbert Mendo Sseguja mimicked President Kaguta Museveni in a great performance that left many wanting more, Voltage Music entertained the crowd as well before King Saha wrapped up the night with his singles like Am on my way, Hullo Hullo, Gundeeze, Mwana Gwe, among others.

Kobs were named the best performing club and also took home the accolade for allegiance. Express were honoured with Communication award.

Galiwango beat teammates Frank Kalanda and Frank Ssenyondo while Syrus Kiviiri beat Geoffrey Soro and Paul Odong.
