Uganda Cranes thrashed Djibouti to finish their CECAFA senior challenge cup group games in style.

The Cranes won 4-1 in a one sided affair at StarTimes Stadium Lugogo as Jonathan Mckinstry’s troops end unbeaten in group A with 12 points.

Muzamir Mutyaba scored from the penalty to set the tone before second half goals from Joachim Ojera, Ben Ocen and Bright Anukani completed the rout.

Harouin Hassan had scored to halve the deficit, 2-1, but his goal proved to be a consolation.

The Cranes will face Tanzania while defending Champions Kenya Harambee Stars play Eritrea in the other semifinal on Tuesday.

Muzamir put Uganda Cranes in the lead after 14 minutes when Mohammed Bourhan handled the ball in the forbidden area off Paul Mbowa’s shot.

Muzamir’s penalty was weak, partially saved by keeper Innocent Mbonihaukoye but the ball escaped to crawl across the goal line.

Ojera doubled the advantage when he raced on a long ball to slot home at the far post, a goal that headlined his good day at office.

Haroun brought one back for Djibouti when his sliding tap in beat Joel Mutakubwa off Fahmi Moussa’s low cross, after Karim Watambala had lost possession in Uganda’s half.

Ocen restored Uganda’s two goal cushion, bundling home at close range thanks to Allan Okello’s assist from right flank.

Anukani fired into the roof with his first touch at point blank range with Ocen turning the provider.
