Uganda Cranes coach Jonathan Mckinstry says that his side will have to be at their best if they are to overcome Tanzania in the cecafa semifinal at StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.
Group A winners Uganda Cranes will face Kilimanjaro boys who came second, behind Kenya, in group B at the semis with a place in the final at stake.
Games will be charged Sh10,000 ordinary according to FUFA
“The boys are eager for the game, there has been huge amount of energy in training today”, Mckinstry said on Monday.
“Four games in seven days is a lot of football, its been tough for them. We are ready for an energetic performance.
“Tanzania are very competitive, we have to put on a good performance if we are to knock them out. If we are below our best, they have enough quality to punish us. We will be in good position to go through if we put up a good performance.”
Uganda Cranes beat group A opponents Eritrea, Djibouti, Burundi and Somalia while TZ lost to Kenya in their opener, beat Zanzibar and drew with Sudan to go through with four points.
Mckinstry is expected to ring changes from the team that beat Djibouti with goalkeeper Joel Mutakubwa expected to pave way for Charles Lukwago in goal.
Mustafa Kizza, Fahad Bayo, Shafic Kagimu, Allan Okello, Bright Anukani and Halid Lwaliwa who were on bench, are expected to push for a place in the starting line up.
Tanzania last won the CECAFA senior Challenge Cup title in 2010 and had previously triumphed in 1974 and 1994.
