Kadiba Project: Phase One Complete, Magogo Gives Update

FUFA boss Moses Magogo said that phase one of the Kadiba project has been completed “as planned.”

The construction project, whose work started in April 2018, will see a stadium built (FUFA Training centre) at Kadiba, a place located in Mengo, Rubaga in Kampala.

“FUFA using the FIFA Forward Programme has completed phase-1 of the Kadiba Project as planned,” Magogo stated.

“The Pitch has been set and installed. The foundation for the Pavilion and dressing rooms finished too. The second Phase will push the project to the facility being usable but not complete and over 1m USD from the FIFA Forward Programme has already been approved for this phase.”

The project was projected to cover a total cost of 4.4M US dollars (15.4 bn).

Magogo also noted that the Federation is also close to resuming work on the Lugazi stadium Project whose land was donated by the Buganda Kingdom.

“Our biggest challenge as sport in this country is infrastructure. We have insufficient quality and quantity sports facilities. The sports equipment is still insufficient too and expensive,” Magogo added.

FUFA headquarters have also been reconstructed and expanded with a Bungalow and 3-storied tower sitting on about two acres adjacent to the Old FUFA House in Mengo

“The football headquarters could no longer provide a proper working environment for the staff, we have increased from eight staff members in 2013 to 60 in 2019.”
