Gadafi Semanda: Dutch-based Winger Target Cranes Spot

Winger Gadafi Semanda says that it will be a dream come true when he plays for the Uganda Cranes.

Semanda is one of the lesser known Ugandan talents that plies their trade abroad.

The tricky attacker turns out for Dutch fifth division club RKVV SDO Bussum.

“Honestly, every footballer thinks that they can help their nation. I am trying to improve my game and see that I climb up the ladder and may be catch the national coach’s attention,” Semanda said.

“It’s my dream to play for the Cranes and having been summoned to the U17 in 2016, I am sure another chance will come knocking in the near future.”

Semanda, is a Kampala Kids League (KKL) and KJT graduate who played in the City Tyres U14 among others.

“At KJT, there was stiff competition as there were lots of good players like Moses Waiswa, Kiwa Gadafi and Isaiah Gift,” Semanda recalls.

He moved to Girona (Spain) for trials where he trained for the 2014/15 season. He then moved to Holland after an interest from Ado Den Haag where he played on the club’s reserve team and later went to Hercules.

“Its with Hercules where I got some playing time,” added Semanda who later joined SDO where he has been for a year.
