Uganda Cranes defender Nicholas Wakiro Wadada has signed a one year contract extension with his club Azam FC, the Tanzanian side has announced.
Wadada joined Azam FC in June 2018, signing from Vipers.
“We are pleased to inform you that we have reached an agreement to enter into a new one-year contract with our right-hander, Nickolas Wadada,” Azam posted.
The club revealed that Wadada’s contract was due to expire in July 2021, so signing the new contract will keep him at the club until 2022.
The Ugandan defender has had a good season since signing with Azam FC.
This season so far in the league, he has contributed four goals and scored one.

Wadada was appointed Vipers captain in 2014 and won two league titles plus one Uganda Cup winners medal.
He began playing youth football at the age of 13 with Lukuli United in 2007. He later joined St. Mary’s Kitende in 2010 and in the same year he joined Uganda Super League club Bunamwaya FC (now Vipers SC).
