Uganda’s women U17 30-man squad have, on Saturday, started a residential training at FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru a head of the forthcoming FIFA world Cup qualifiers.
Uganda will be facing Ethiopia in the first preliminary round in two legs which are scheduled to take place in January 2020, with the first and second leg ties coming between January 10 and 26.

If the girls negotiate past Ethiopia tie, they will again face the winner between Tanzania or Burundi in the second preliminary round as they pursue for three spots given to the African continent in the competition.
“We have started our training today, it has been good and we have been basically checking on fitness level of these girls being the fact that we have not been them and they have not been training. But generally they are not badly off and we are going to start building on that” head coach Ayubu Khalifa said.
A one year old Uganda girls U17 team, will be looking forward to building on comprehensive success after winning COSAFA U-17 and CECAFA U-17 championships respectively.
This is the 7th edition of the tourney since its inception in 2008, its going to be hosted in India between 2nd and 21st November 2020. And Spain is the defending Champions.
