Turmoil For Tooro As Game Against Onduparaka Called Off

Tooro United is set to loose points after they failed to field the required number of players against Onduparaka in a a league game at St Paul Seminary in Fort Portal.

Reports claim that Tooro United had only three licensed players, and the match could not go on.

Onduparaka FC on the other hand, had only seven licensed players including goalkeeper Baker Yunus, which is exactly the the required number for a game to start.

The buildup to the game had been bitter, with the hosts travelling without a core of their star players who cited unpaid arrears.

Onduparaka remain fifth with 23 points while Tooro United sit just above the drop zone, 13th, with 14 points.

Uncertainties About Club Ownership

In the build up to the game, a section of Tooro players petitioned FUFA in relation to the club’s ownership – It’s said that the club has been taken by Ms Alice Namatovu.

In response, FUFA has written that their records still have Smart Obedi and Ssesanga Spelito as the owners, having 51 and 49% shares respectively.

However, FUFA has given Tooro United an ultimatum of 48 hours to issue an official statement about the status of their players.
