URA 2-0 Villa: Coach Kaziba Attributes Loss To Thin Squad

SC Villa head coach Edward Kaziba said that his club could have done better against URA if it wasn’t for the unavailable players.

The record league winners missed a couple of players because of licenses in a 2-0 loss against the Tax collectors at Arena of Visions in Bombo.

Derrick Ndahiro, Gavin Kizito Mugweri, Amir Kakomo, Moses Kiggundu, Benson Muhindo and Nicholas Kabonge were all scrapped off the match-day squad just few minutes to the start of the game due to licences.

“Those last minute changes disorganised us,” Kaziba responded. “We knew this at the last minute and it has proved to be a big blow.”

“We are going to take the blame. It’s something we are going to look into and take the matter serious. We have to concede the blame, especially the players who fail to present their documents like national IDs in time.”

The Jogoos failed to connect with a huge crowd of their fans that had made the trip to Bombo and were torn down to pieces by a resolute but wasteful URA FC.

Daniel Isiagi gave scored an early goal in the first minute to set the tone and later substitute Michael Birungi doubled the lead for the hosts.

“We conceded from our own mistakes. There was poor communication in the defense but that early goal also disorganised us so much,” added Villa coach Kaziba.

In the first round, Villa needed a late Ambrose Kirya penalty to rescue a point off URA at a muddy Luzira Prisons ground in November.

Villa occupy fourth with 27 points.
