Express FC will out for vengeance when they meet hosts Busoga United in their second round opener at the Mighty Arena, Jinja.
Busoga beat Express in the reverse fixture at Wankulukuku; Joel Madondo and Boban Zirintusa on target while Frank Kalanda’s penalty proved a consolation.
Busoga United are 10th with 18 points, with just a better goal difference above Express FC in 11th ahead of Friday’s meeting.

The Red Eagles will be without Cyrus Kibande, Ivan Ocholit and Martin Kizza while goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga and Hamdan Nsubuga are back from a long layoff.
“I have an almost fully fit squad,” Express FC gaffer George Ssimwogerere said. “We are ready, we are looking forward to correcting mistakes we made last time and hopefully, we will get better results.”

After that 2-1 win at Wankulukuku, Busoga have not won a game since; Abbey Bogere Kikomeko’s side has played five league games, losing three and drawing twice.
To bury the poor form, they will have to do it without Madondo who is reportedly in Morocco for trials. Midfielder Nelson Mandela has also been ruled out.
“We are set for a better second round, we are just hoping that we can our home games so that we can aim for a better place up the table,” said Coach Bogere.
“We will not be with Madondo but we have other players who can can get the job done like Lawrence Tezikya, Ibrahim Mugulusi, Sekulima and Ivan Wani among others, they are capable of giving us good results.”

Express’ only away win against Busoga United (Kirinya Jinja) was in 2017, with Mahad Yaya scoring the only goal for Matia Lule’s team then.
