UPL: Maroons Draw Onduparaka To Extend Winless Run

Maroons and Onduparaka played out a 1-1 draw in a StarTimes UPL encounter at Greenlight Stadium, Arua.

Julius Malingumu scored for Onduparaka before Patrick Bayiga levelled matters for the visitors who remain without a win in their last seven games.

Maroons last picked maximum points when they beat Police FC 2-1 on November 2 and have lost three games in between.

Malingumu put the Carterpillars in the lead at the hour mark thanks to Ezra Bida’s assists.

Onduparaka’s lead was short lived when Bayiga scored off Bronson Nsubuga’s delivery in the 64th minute.

Onduparaka were good value for the win but will rue missed opportunities including two wide shots from goalscorer Malingumu while Maroons’ best chance saw Fred Amaku denied by Yusuf Wasswa.

Maroons move to 20 points while Onduparaka FC have colevted 27 points after 17 games.


Onduparaka who picked a walkover against Tooro, will make a long trip to face Wakiso Giants while Maroons will be at Luzira to welcome BUL FC.
