Vipers has sent out striker Henry Kitegenyi on loan, with the player likely to join Big league team UPDF FC, The-SportsNation sources have learnt.
The striker has failed to command playing minutes at Kitende since joining at the beginning of the season from Kansai Plascon.
His pursue for a starting place at the club fighting for a title was always in doubt given the red-hot attack that has Fahad Bayo, Dan Sserunkuma, Denis Mwemezi not to mention the injured Shaban Mohammed among others.
UPDF has also reportedly acquired youngster Dennis Ojara on loan. He was part of the St Mary’s SS team that won Copa Coca Cola last year.
At the start of the season, Vipers had sent out a couple of players on loan including Duncan Sseninde, Ibrahim Kiyemba and Tom Masiko at Wakiso Giants. Henry Katongole (Police), Steven Mukwala (Maroons), Joseph Janjali (Bright Stars), Dan Birikwalira (Kyetume FC), Dickens Okwir (Paidha BA) are the other players.
At UPDF, Kitegenyi joins a strong team captained by Denis Ssekitoleko and will be expected to lift the scoring burden off the likes of Herbert Katongole, Fred Kalanzi, Evans Tugume, Titus Lubega among others.
The army side ended the first round in fourth place with 14 points after four wins from eight games.
