Police FC switched on a beast mode and obliterated appalling Express FC on Match-day 17 of the StarTimes UPL at Lugogo.

Police who had lost 5-3 in the reverse fixture at Wankulukuku, paid back in different currency to win 6-1 in a one-sided affair.

Pius Kaggwa and Derrick Kakooza scored a brace each in the first stanza before Ben Ocen and an own goal from Mutebi Peter put the icing on the cake in the second half.

Dissan Galiwango brought one back for the Red Eagles when he tapped in from Andrew Kiwanuka’s low cross.

It could have been worse as Police who dominated from onset missed a couple of chances against a side that missed first choice players Cyrus Kibande, Martin Mpuuga, Yiga Mohammed and Frank Ssenyondo.

Samson Kigozi and Kaggwa were denied by Mathias Muwanga, the former had earlier directed his effort onto the crossbar.

Frank Kalanda saw Express’ best chances including a penalty appeal that was waved by referee Shamirah Nabadda when he collided with goalkeeper Davis Mutebi.

Kalanda also fired over the bar from close range, had a weak freekick easily collected and a volley that was parried away for a corner.

Express have lost their two opening games of the second round while Police have won as many. The Peace keepers have collected 18 points and leapfrog Express courtesy of a better goal difference.

Police host Kyetume while Express will be at home to face Proline at Kavumba on Match-day 18.

Kakooza scored as early as the 2nd minute when he bundled in past a helpless Muwanga after the ball had ricocheted from the crossbar.

Kaggwa doubled the advantage after he was given all the time and space to score from a well taken chip.

Kakooza made it three when he benefited from Muwanga’s howler – The goalkeeper let slip of a tame header after a well weighed Arafat Galiwango cross.

Kaggwa scored the other at the stroke of halftime when he fired from a distance to beat Muwanga at the far post.

Ocen scored the fifth, beating Express defence before curling in a beauty and Mutebi scored in his own net after the defence failed to clear away from danger.
