Tooro United Lose Another Match By Forfeiture

Embattled Tooro United FC has lost their match against Kyetume FC by forfeiture, FUFA’s Competitions Disciplinary Panel (CDP) has ruled.

The club has been found guilty of fielding an ineligible player – James Kasibante against Kyetume FC in a league game on January 15, 2020 that had ended 1-1 at Might Arena in Jinja.

Kyetume FC had reportedly petitioned to FUFA about the matter.

The CDP has confirmed that Kasibante’s licence was issued by FUFA on January 17, 2020 at 4:00PM, meaning that on 15th, the player was unlicensed.

“Tooro United loses the match against Kyetume by forfeiture in accordance with Art.19 (19) of the FUFA competitions rules which establishes that a club that fields an ineligible player shall lose the match by forfeiture to the opposing team,” reads the ruling seen by this website.

This is the second match Tooro United have lost in similar manner; the club was at fault when they failed to assemble at least seven players for a league game against Onduparaka FC.

This is the latest in Tooro’s woes that have seen the club fail to pay salaries to players, resignation of coaches and mounting questions about the club’s ownership.

Tooro who last won a league game against Mbarara City (1-0) on November 3, have gone seven days without a win.

They now remain 15th, second from the bottom with 14 points while Kyetume are 13th with 19 points after 18 games.
