Simba ans Gor Mahia from the Council For East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) region have been listed among the best 400 teams in the concluded year of 2019.

The long list was drafted by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) – an organization that chronicles the history and records of association football.
The list that is topped by UEFA’s Liverpool FC from England, has 41 countries from the African (CAF) region.
Kenya’s Gor Mahia are 244th while Tanzania’s Simba SC comes in 305 position, holding it with Venuezela’s Deportivo Lara.
No club from Uganda made the list despite KCCA FC winning the CECAFA Kagame club championship in Rwanda last year.
Tunisia’s Esperance Sportive leads the African contingent are 19th in the whole world.
Etoile du Sahel, Wydad, Al Ahly and RSB Berkene makes the list of top five from Africa.
This is the first time Esperance claim top spot since 2013, according to IFHHS body.
