UPL: Onduparaka Beat Busoga To Move Third

Onduparaka FC beat Busoga United 2-1 in a StarTimes league game played at Greenlight Stadium, Arua.

Julius Malingumu put the hosts in front with a header off Jamal Malish’s cross in the 24th minute – This was the striker’s seventh goal in the league.

Nelson Mandela levelled matters for Busoga three minutes later as the first half ended one all.

Onduparaka scored what proved to be the winner, Rashid Okocha benefiting from poor defending to loop a beauty over Rogers Omedwa in the the 69th minute to seal a 2-1 victory.

The Caterpillars who started the day in sixth place, move third with 30 points, joint level with Villa who have a game in hand.

The club who were ousted from Uganda Cup by Bugamba FC, will visit Vipers SC in their next league game.

Busoga suffered their first league loss in 2020 after winning their first three second round games.

Coached by Abbey Kikomeko, Busoga will be at home in the Jinja Derby against BUL FC.
