BUL FC and Wakiso Giants fired blanks in a goalless draw on match-day 19 at FUFA Technical centre Njeru.
Both goalkeepers saved penalties as the teams settled for a point each.
Wakiso Giants’ Viane Ssekajugo had the first chance only to see his spot kick attempt flapped by Ali Kimera.
Hamis Tibita would have won it late for BUL FC in the 90th minute but his penalty was saved by Derrick Emukule after Alex Komakech was Judged to have handled the ball in the box.
BUL FC were good value for the result and looked promising from onset with Richard Wandyaka and James Otim all coming close to breaking the deadlock.
The Purple Sharks tried to mount a challenge in the second half but couldn’t get a breakthrough as the hosts tried to connect with their home support.
Dennis Okot and Joseph Ssemujju also had attempts but were off the target.
Wakiso Giants’ captain Hassan Ssenyonjo had his rebound blocked by Musa Walangarira after Ssekajugo was denied by woodwork.
Bul FC remain without a win in the new year after and have 30 points in the fifth position on the StarTimesUPL table.
Bul FC will be seeking first win of the second round when they visit Busoga United on matchday 20 in the Jinja derby.
Wakiso Giants occupy eighth position after 19 games with 24 points and will face Bright Stars in their next encounter.
