Elite Schools Championship: St Noa Bags Third Trophy

St Noa won the Girls football trophy, their third after winning Girls Basketball and Netball, at the ongoing Elite Schools Championship.

In girls football, St Noa beat giants Kawempe Muslim 2-1 with Kabachulezi Mary and Kigongo Angel on target to come from a goal down after Nakatto Rebecca has scored for the latter.

They went into a decider against Gaddafi who they beat 1-0 courtesy of a second half powerful free kick from Nakku Mastula.

St Noa top the log in the round robin format after collecting 11 points in 5 games. Uganda Matry’s finished second with 10 points infront of Kawempe on 5 points and other participants Dynamic SS, Rines SS and Gaddafi.

St Noa’s Julius Ssenyondo said that:

“It has been a very good championship for preparations ahead coming tournaments, Its new team it is good for us to start on high note.

“Though we still have a long way to go so that we can compete in more competitive tourneys, we will have to add in some players with much maturity sense.”

In the tournament held at Old Kampala for three days, S.2 Student Sumaya Nalumu finished as top Scorer with 4 followed by Catherine Nagadya, Kayesu Joan and Nakato Rebecca all tied on 2 goals.

The games shall continue with Boys football Semi finals, Third placed game and the final on Thursday.
