Busoga Vs BUL: Must Know Ahead Of Jinja Derby

Saturday, February 1
*Busoga United Vs BUL FC – 3PM
(The Mighty Arena)

Busoga United and BUL FC face off on Saturday in the Jinja derby at the Mighty Arena.

Busoga won the first encounter 3-0 away this season in Njeru courtesy of goals from Lawrence Tezikya, Boban Zirintusa and Joel Madondo.

The hosts are seventh with 27 points, just a place below BUL FC who have collected 30 after 19 league games.

Both sides will be seeking return to winning ways: Busoga have lost their last games, including a Uganda cup exit against Busia young.

On Tuesday, Nelson Mandela equalised against Onduparaka but they were pegged back again to lose 2-1 in Arua where they suffered an accident on their way back.

Tezikya and Ivan Wani will lead the line and the carry team’s scoring burden as George Kasonko and David Bagoole man the middle of the park.

BUL FC on the other hand, are yet to win a league game since beating Mbarara 3-0 courtesy of Musa Esenu’s hat-trick in November last year.

They will feel hard done by Hamis Tibita’s failed penalty at the death against Wakiso Giants but where at the same time lucky as Vianney Ssekajugo also missed his spot kick in a game that ended goalless.

This will be the eighth league meeting between the two Jinja giants, each side has won once, and shares spoils five times.
