Ugandan international Juma Balinya opened his account for Kenyan side Gor Mahia in high gear.

The former Police FC attacker, Balinya, scored two goals for his first start as Gor Mahia eased past Nzoia to win 3-0 in the Kenyan Premier League.

The victory maintains Gor’s lead at the summit with 44 points, four above second placed Kakamega Homeboys, with a game in hand.

This was the second game for Balinya who also featured in the club’s 2-1 victory against Sofapaka.

He scored his first at the stroke of halftime when he tapped in at close range after Nzoia’s keeper spilled Samuel Onyango’s shot in his way.

The forward got his second when he collected from Onyango before scoring from point blank range in a build up that involved Kenneth Muguna.

He should have finished with an hat-trick but had earlier missed an easy one when his weak effort was collected by Benson Mangala.

Balinya also turned provider but his delivery was headed out Onyango in the 38th minute.

Gor captain Kenneth Muguna scored the other goal to complete a 3-0 haul.

Balinya will be hoping to extend his scoring spree when they visit Sofapaka next Saturday.
