UPL: Makueth On Target As Mbarara Compounds Express Misery

Express FC lost to Mbarara courtesy of Makueth goal.

Sunday, February 2
*Vipers 1-0 Onduparaka
*Express 0-1 Mbarara
*Proline 0-1 Kyetume
*Wakiso 1-1 Bright Stars

Express FC’s woes continued with another 1-0 home loss to visiting Mbarara City FC in a league game played at Kavumba Recreation centre.

Makueth Wol’s header for Mbarara in the 54th minute proved the difference as the Ankole Lions extended Express’ distress.

In a less eventful affair, Mbarara would have scored more but Mathias Muwanga was outstanding including denying Ivan Eyam and Ibrahim Orit.

Express’ forward line of Dissan Galiwango, Frank Ssenyondo and Ivan Ocholit failed to live up to the billing as Frank Kalanda started from the bench.

The loss is the 11th the Red Eagles have suffered this season which extends more pressure on head coach George Ssimwogerere.

Express FC are 13th with 21 points, just a point and a place above the drop zone after match-day 20.

Express who also lost to rivals SC Villa by a similar scoreline, take a long trip to Arua to face Onduparaka FC in their next game on Friday.

Mbarara City are now eighth with 26 points and will host Police FC in their next league engagement.
