Bright Stars will be banking on their new signings for survival when they play host to Busoga United on match-day 21 at Kavumba Recreation centre.
Bernard Muwanga (KCCA FC), Munguki Stephen (URA FC) and Muwadda Mawejje (Wakiso Giants FC ) are the new players Bright Stars acquired in January.
Paul Kiwanuka’s charges are 14th on the table with 20 points, just a point a drift of safety. The visitors occupy sixth place with 30 points.
Both sides have lost only one out of the five games played in the second round and it promises to be a scintillating affair when they face off on Wednesday.
Bright Stars have won three, drawn one and lost as many games in the second round.
Busoga on the other hand, have won four and lost against Onduparaka in the second round.
Bright Stars will be without Nkooge Ronald who stretched off in their last home game where they defeated Maroons 2-1, where Nkooge scored the opener.
However, James Angu is readily available. Suleiman Ssebbunza and Joseph Janjali will also be instrumental for the hosts.
Busoga are also coming into this one at the back of Jinja Derby bragging rights after completing a double over rivals BUL FC following a 2-1 sweet win in their last encounter at the Might Arena last Saturday.
Club’s New signing Sharif Kimbowa who joined from Nkumba University after his good performance in last year’s University football league is also expected to make his debut.
Kimbowa is expected to fill Joel Madondo’s boots and this will boost the attacking force of the club which has been commanded by Lawrence Tezikya.
Joel Madondo, Ibrahim Mugulusi and Dan Sewava scored for Busoga who beat Bright Stars 3-1 in the first round with Isaac Isinde scoring in his own net.
