Sources: Three Players Leave City Oilers

Three players have left National Basketball League side City Oilers by mutual consent, a source has told The-SportsNation.

Guards Josh Johnson, Daniel ‘Najja’ Juuko and Abel ‘Omo’ Omongin have reportedly left the seven time champions.

This looks like a blow for the seven time champions who struggled with depth last season despite the released players failing to command playing minutes.

Jimmy Enabu is expected to have an on and off season because of his busy schedule, Francis Chisioke Azolibe was operated and his return date remains to be known while Stephen Omony and Jonathan Egau spent the season on bed.

However, the club is expected to reinforce the squad before the new season that will tentatively start in March.

Najja’s exit means that Enabu and James Okello are the remaining players that have been part of the club’s seven league titles.

Najja joined Oilers in 2013 from Rez Life and he is expected to sign for JKL Dolphins, but Warriors and UPDF have shown interest.

Omo who averaged three points last season had joined from Charging Rhino while Josh played for Ipswich in England.
