Onduparaka Vs Express: Bbosa, Kambale in As Visitors Face Bogey Side

Coach Wasswa Bbosa will be hoping for a positive start when he takes Express to Arua to face hosts Onduparaka FC at Greenlight Stadium.

This will be Bbosa’s first game in charge since replacing George Ssimwogerere and he finds the club in relegation zone with 21 points.

Bbosa’s last league game as a coach was against Onduparaka, a 3-0 loss with Tooro in Arua where he went on to announced his resignation in October last year.

At Express, he inherits a squad that is short of quality but will bank on the attacking trio of Dissan Galiwango, Frank Ssenyondo and Kalanda going forward.

The club has confirmed the return of fans darling Eric Kambala. He had left the club last season but returned and he has been training with the club. His paper work has been finalised and is with the team in Arua, awaiting selection.

Goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga is out while Hamdan Nsubuga and Cyrus Kibande are also still sidelined.

Bbosa’s ‘luggage players’ in Mahad Kakooza, Musa Mukasa, Isa Lumu and Arthur Kiggundu together with Baker Lukooya are yet to acquire licenses to play for Express FC.

He is expected to name a a bit changed lineup that lost Mbarara City FC, which was Ssimwogerere’s last game, with Ivan Ocholit, Doka Mweru and Denis Sserukwaya may drop to the bench.

Onduparaka FC Target Express Scalp

Much has changed since Onduparaka beat a Bbosa-coached team last year. The club, that lost about five players in the concluded transfer window is in real crisis.

Much of the problems at the club have to do with money and a section of officials and fans have showed their interest in having former Sponsor Betway return.

On the field of play, Onduparaka occupy fifth place with 30 points, nine points above Express FC who they beat in the first round thanks to goals from Adinho Gibson and Caesar Okhuti at Wankulukuku.

To be specific, Onduparaka has never lost to Express – seven meetings, four wins for the Caterpillars and the rest have been draws. The Red Eagles have not scored against Onduparaka in their last four meetings!

The side has reinforced their squad with the addition of lesser known Andama Sabir (Doves All Star) and Nsereko Mali Fred (Ndejje University).

In their last encounter, Onduparaka lost to Vipers in a game they thought that they could have won. Geoffrey Wasswa’s freekick ended the club’s resistance at Kitende to pay for their wasted opportunities.
