Mbarara City FC beat Police FC 1-0 in a match day 21 game to mark a return to Kakyeka with a bang.

Brian Aheebwa scored the only goal of the game as the Ankole lions earned their first back to back win this season after wining against Express FC in their match day 20.

Substitute Aheebwa who replaced Ivan Eyam won it late for hosts when he scored home from Solomon Okwalinga’s assist in the added minutes.

In general, it was a game of fewer chances, however the hosts looked the better side.

Davis Mutebi pulled out some saves when he denied Solomon Okwalinga’s 10th minute effort before saving Jude Semugabi’s header.

A win has seen Mbarara move to 8th on the table with 29 points from 21 games putting pressure to top four which is gapped by only four points and they will make a trip to Njeru to play Kyetume in their next league encounter after their Uganda cup round of 32 fixture next week.

A loss, has left the Cops at the edge of Red Zone in 13th position on the log with 22 points from 21 games and they host Bright Stars in their league encounter which comes in 11 days from now.
