Sources: City Oilers Considering Ikong Move

City Oilers are set to acquire the services of small forward Joseph Ikong, The-SportsNation sources have learnt.

Ikong became a free agent after ending his 13-year tenure with Betway Power recently.

The former Makerere Youth Heaters player has been linked with Oilers for the past three seasons and a deal is expected to be reached.

The seven-time defending champions are expected to beef up their squad ahead of the new 2020 NBL Season after losing three players.

Daniel Juuko, Abel Omongin and Josh Johnson were released at the end of the season while Francis Chisioke Azolibe, Stephen Omony and Jonathan Egau will not be fit to start the season, not to mention the uncertainty of Jimmy Enabu’s availability.

Ikong who averaged eight points, four rebounds and as many assists for Power last season, will be a major addition to Oilers if the deal goes through.
