*Olila High 2-0 She Corporates
*Uganda Martyrs 2-0 Lady Doves
*Kampala Queens 0-1 Kawempe Muslims
Kawempe Muslim beat Kampala Queens 1-0 in a FUFA Women Super League game on Sunday at IUIU Kabojja.
Namata Anita’s second half goal was the difference as Kawempe moved to 15 points after five games. The Ayub Khalifa coached side leapfrog Lady Doves who remain on 13 points after a 2-0 away loss to Uganda Martyrs.
In what was dubbed as a Fauzia Najjemba Vs Juliet Nalukenge duel, the latter missed the encounter due to an injury sustained in the previous game against Olila.
The youthful Kawempe side pilled pressure unto Kampala Queens and broke the deadlock through Pacy Namata Anita in the 61st minute.
Kampala Queens had chances from Najjemba but Kawempe goalie Juliet Adeke was outstanding in a one on one situation.
It still took a solid and communicating defence to clear the captain’s header off the line in the last minutes of the game.
Kampala Queens coach Faridah Bulega still hunts for a win against his former coach after today’s effort went futile.
Khalifa believes it’s the away game plan that won them the match although they missed star player Nalukenge.
“Of course we planned, playing a game away needs a lot of planning, they played well in the first half and my girls picked up in the second half and we managed to get a point from home,“ said Khalifa.
Bulega did not know what brought about the loss by press time, “I don’t know what happened and that’s what am going to get from the players.”
Kawempe face Lady Doves Fc on February 16th while Kampala Queens will entertain UCU lady cardinals the following day.
