URA FC put eight goals past Nyamityobora to storm the Uganda Cup round of 16 in style at the Arena of Visions, Bombo.

Both striker Daniel Isiagi scored an hat-trick, midfielder Saidi Kyeyune bagged a double while Shafic Kagimu, Joachim Ojera and substitute Cromwell Rwothomio added a goal each.

Ivan Ahimbisibwe put Nyamityobora in a shock lead before the hosts ran riot to demolish the Big league club. Ahimbisibwe (2) and Clinton Kamugisha were on target in a losing effort.

Isiagi scored his first goal when he headed in Kyeyune’s corner to level matters at 1-1. And he scored the second after the visitors had restored their lead, another header.

Isiagi completed his hat-trick from the spot after Joachim Ojera was brought down in the box. The striker was then withdrawn for Rwothomio in the 69th minute.

URA FC who have won the Uganda Cup three times, 2005, 2011–12 and 2013–14, remain of the favourites for this year’s Cup after exit of UPL sides like Vipers and Express FC at round of 32.

Sam Ssimbwa’s charges beat Lugazi Municipal 4-0 at round of 64 to make their intents known at an early stage.
