Uganda’s national boxing team, Bombers, of 13 Boxers has been flagged off on Friday, 14th February 2020 for Dakar, Senegal to take part in Africa Regional Qualifiers due to take place on 20th to 29th February 2020.
The championship will act as qualifiers for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The flag off was held at Copper Chimney, Lugogo by new state Minister for Sports Hamson Obua, NCS and Uganda Boxing Federation.
The team is hopefully expected to travel on Sunday 16th February.

Minister Obua after handing the national flag to Shadir Musa Bwogi the Bombers captain asked them to go out for gold.
UBF president Muhangi expressed confidence in his team.
“I am proud of my executive for what we have done. We have had a better training for the first time though it is not the best. I believe in our team upon qualifying for the Qualifiers,” said Muhangi.
“We have played our part as executive but we will not enter into ring, the remaining part is for the Boxers.”
Captain Shadir Musa said that everyone on the team is deserving and capable of getting a medal.
Gold and Silver winners automatically qualify to the Olympics while bronze winners are sent to France for global qualifiers.
