Wakiso Giants: Deo Sserwadda Replaces Sacked Mbabazi

Wakiso Giants has confirmed the appointment of Deo Sserwadda after the exit of Livingston Mbabazi, it’s official.

The Purple Sharks parted ways with Mbabazi who had replaced Kefa Kisala before the start of the second round.

Mbabazi was sacked after a string of poor results, winning just twice – Bugoingo and Onduparaka – in seven attempts.

“The Head coach of Wakiso Giants FC Charles Livingstone Mbabazi has departed the club as of today after mutual agreement with the Board over a series of poor results and other factors,” reads a letter from Wakiso.

“We are therefore very grateful and thank Coach Mbabazi and his members of the Technical Team for the work done during their tenure at the club and wish them the best in their future endeavours.

Steven Bengo was on touchline on Tuesday as Wakiso beat MYDA 5-0 in Uganda cup but the former player will be an assistant to Sserwadda while Ali Kiggundu will be the goalkeeping coach.

“In that regard, the club has appointed Deo Sserwadda to take over as the Head Coach on interim basis till the end of the season when a permanent technical staff will be named.”

Sserwadda has coached SC Villa and URA FC among other clubs.

Wakiso are ninth on the log with 25 points and will face Maroons on February 18 at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium.
