SC Villa head coach Edward Kaziba believes his side will be playing the last game (final) of this year’s Stanbic Uganda Cup.
Kaziba is very positive and confident after his side edged Kajjansi United to reach the round of 16.
Ronald Magwali’s 30th minute strike was enough to separate both sides at Wankulukuku.
Kaziba spoke about the importance of his team advancing to the next round:
“We came not taking Kajjansi for granted because they had earlier eliminated Vipers who were favorites, many teams have came up to shock top flight teams.
“We want to play the last game of the tournament this year in this competition; we are not here to test our gameplay but ambitious for every game we play.
“A 1-0 victory isn’t bad in such a knockout cup but we had to manage it well because we have a number of games coming up and we want to keep our feet on the wheel.”
Kaziba also hailed his players’ attitude in the whole season throughout.
“In the second round of the league, we started off on a low mark because of licensing issues but I thank my players for the attitude exhibited.”
SC Villa has been on a eliminated by Regional league sides for the past two seasons in the competiton – Kiboga Young (2018) and Nkambi Coffee (2019).
The joogo’s last won the championship in 2014/15 when they beat KCCA FC in Namboole.
