The U17 national women team has started it’s preparations for the second Preliminary round of the FIFA U17 Women World Cup Qualifier.
The side, under coach Ayub Khalifa, held a light training session at Kawempe.
Uganda, who won CECAFA and COSAFA U17 Championships last year, will fancy their chances to eliminate Tanzania.
The teams will meet on March 1st in first leg in Dar Es Salam before a return leg in Kampala.
Uganda eliminated Ethiopia in the first round after a 5-1 win on aggregate.
“We have resumed training in preparations for our match against Tanzania, basically today we had a light training, trying to bring their bodies back,” said Ayub Khalifa.
“We expect serious training when all the prayers report from their respective clubs where they had league matches over the weekend.”
If Uganda negotiate past this tie after two legs, they will face the winner between Cameroon and Sao Tome and Principe for a slot at the World Cup finals in India later this year.
