Bright Stars beat Police 2-1 in a league game played on Tuesday at the StarTimes Stadium, Lugogo.

The victory extends Police’s winless streak and dents their chances of getting out of red zone.

Hood Kaweesi Scored for Abdallah Mubiru’s team while Sulaiman Ssebbunza and Muwadda Mawejje scored for Bright Stars.

Bright Stars move four points clear to occupy ninth position on the log with 26 points from 22 games.

Police goalkeeper Davis Mutebi pulled out some saves to deny Muwadda Mawejje’s freekick.

He also finger tipped Joseph Janjali’s free header into a corner kick.

Just three minutes into the second stanza, Bright Stars’ captain Ssebbunza converted from a spot-kick after a foul on substitute James Angu who had replaced injured Ronald Ssempala, to hand visitors lead.

The visitors continued to press the Cops and in 66th minute, new signing Muwadda doubled the lead when he tapped into the top right corner from Ronald Nkooge’s fine cross.

In the dying minutes of the game, hosts pulled one back through substitute Kaweesi who replaced Herman Wasswa – He bundled home off Johnson Odongo’s delivery.

Police are still stuck in the red zone as they occupy 14th position with 22 points from as many games.

Police will make a long trip to Fort Portal to face Tooro in their next game while Bright Stars will host Proline at Kavumba.
