Wakiso Giants new coach Deo Sserwadda will be hoping for maximum points to get off the mark as they host Maroons.

The Purple Sharks appointed Sserwadda after parting ways with Livingston Mbabazi recently due to a string of poor results after six games.

Sserwadda, a former SC Villa tactician, face s tricky Douglas Bamweyana coached Maroons at Wakissha Resource centre.

Wakiso beat MYDA FC 5-0 in Uganda cup but are without a league win since edging Onduparaka FC 1-0. They have gone three league games without victory – These include two back to back draws against BUL and Bright Stars before a 2-1 away loss to Tooro United.

The side will welcome back Gadafi Wahab who was cap tied against MYDA in the Uganda Cup while Geriga Atendele is sidelined after accumulating three yellow cards.

The first round fixture saw Maroons battle back after Viane Ssekajugo and Karim Ndugwa have put Wakiso in the lead, before Steven Mukwala’s brace.

Wakiso are ninth with 25 points, just a point and a place above Maroons.

Maroons beat BUL FC 2-0 at home on January 18 but are winless in the league since then. They have lost twice (Bright Stars and KCCA) and a 1-1 draw with Toor in between.

However, Maroons will walk into the match with renewed confidence after eliminating joint record Uganda Cup winners Express FC to reach the round of 16.
