*MYDA FC 4-0 Bukedea Town Council

Katwe United switched on beast mode to in their 4-1 victory against Mbale based side Kataka FC as the second round of the 2019/20 FUFA Big league kicked off.

Allan Tebusweke scored a double before Habib Kavuma and Solomon Wafula added a goal each in a one sided affair.

Francis odando scored a late consolation for the visitors who spent over three days training at Njeru’s artificial turf in preparation for the game.

The hosts missed new striker Tony Odur who was scrapped off the match-day squad because of licence issues.

The victory, second for Katwe United, is the first for coach Allan Kabonge who replaced Hassan Mubiru and sees the club move to eight points and climb above the rock bottom (9) to eighth place.

Katwe’s other win came against Light SS (1-0) in the season opener.

“It’s a big win for us despite missing some good chances,” Kabonge said shortly after the game. “We want to win more games and my target is to help this club to top flight promotion.”

After a series of missed chances, Wafula bundled home from close range after Ronald Kikonyongo’s long range effort ricocheted from the woodwork to hand the side a 1-0 halftime lead.

Kavuma doubled the lead from the spot – fisting in the air in celebration – when right back Junior Otem Emma was judged to have handled the ball in the area.

Tebusweke scored the third shortly after a neat assist from substitute Billy Nkata to drive a long range.

He completed his double when he robbed of possession from reckless Filbert Mukamba and Hassan Wandega to curl home an icing on the cake.

“Its so sad that we have conceded many goals. There are still many matches and we will correct our errors. I hope to have some more players in our next game,” said Kataka coach Godfrey ‘Toldo’ Awach.

Katwe United visit Light SS on March 1 at Amuria while Kataka will be at home to Dove All Stars.
